GOLDENBERRY (Physalis peruviana)


The Goldenberry is also known as Aguaymanto or Peruvian cherry. The fruit is native to high altitude areas in Peru where it still grows wild and has been cultivated at least since Inca times.

The fruit contains high levels of Vitamin A, B and C and is believed to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Now golden berries are making their way in to American and Europe health food stores as the newest super food.
